The Community Foundation has more than 300 scholarship opportunities for students in our region.  The Foundation awarded more than $1,000 in scholarships in 2025. Applying is easy! Visit cfalleghenies.org/scholarships to start your application.

Ready. Set. Go...to UPJ ScholarshipThe University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is offering this scholarship for 2026 high school graduates from Bedford, Cambria, and Somerset Counties. Eligible students will receive a one-time $3,000 scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year, in addition to any academic or need-based aid they may qualify for.

Stoystown Sons of the American Legion Post #257 Citizenship Award:  Eligible to high school seniors.  Financial Award is $500.00.  More info is available in the guidance office.  Deadline is April 30th.

The Ritton Family Foundation:  Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, community involvement, school activities, honors, work experience, statement of career goals and financial need. Eligible to high school seniors enrolling in a full-time course of study at a college, university or trade school.  Applications must be received by April 15th to be considered.

Rev. Jay E. Shaffer Student Award:  Student applying for this award should demonstrate good moral character, show kindness and respect/values others, exhibits strong work ethic and leadership qualities, and serves others in the community by volunteering through church or club activities. You may pick up an application in the guidance office. Application Deadline is April 24, 2026.

Michael L. Brady Scholarship: Must be a graduating Senior, demonstrate good moral character, shows kindness and respects towards others, exhibit a strong work ethic and leadership qualities, serves others in the community by volunteering in club activities, and other related fields, and participates in extra-curricular activities.  One senior student will be chosen for their academics, one for athletics, and one from FFA to receive the scholarship. The award is $300.00 and the application deadline is May 4, 2026.

Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship Program:  Applicants must meet the following criteria:   completed high school, plan to attend a not-for-profit community college or trade/vocational school, and demonstrate financial need, enroll in an associate's degree, certificate, or diploma program by September that will lead to employment.
