Ready. Set. Go...to UPJ ScholarshipThe University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is offering this scholarship for 2026 high school graduates from Bedford, Cambria, and Somerset Counties. Eligible students will receive a one-time $3,000 scholarship for the 2026-2027 academic year, in addition to any academic or need-based aid they may qualify for.

Essay Contest for Grades 6th through 8th grade: "Do you thing Flag Etiquette should be taught in schools?"    Essay must be no less than 500 words and no more than a 1,000 words.  Deadline is no later than February 5th.

First Commonwealth Bank Scholarship Fund:  Eligible to high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA. A pool of $35,000 will be made available in a one-time of $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors attending a college or university. Must complete an application and an essay detailing how they have made a difference in their community and how that involvement impacted their community and life. Entries are due February 27th at 5:00pm.  Must be submitted on line at http://www.fcbanking.com/scholarship.

The Benjamin Franklin  Scholar Award: Candidates must be current high school juniors.  This year, in honor of America’s Semiquincentennial, they have increased our scholarship giving and are now offering three (3) prizes of $7,500 each. Candidates will be asked to complete our Initial Interest Form  by FEBRUARY 1st, and then prepare and record a short video presentation based on one of the following prompts that will be due by March 6th.

Prompt #1: Discuss the significance of America’s 250th anniversary to Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, or your own town. 

Prompt #2: Discuss what you believe will be important in the next 250 years of America’s history.

Prompt #3: Discuss your own personal involvement in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary citing examples in your own area. 

Winners will be announced April 10th.  More information is available in the guidance office.

ABC Keystone's Merit Shop Training & Research Center Scholarship:  Must be a resident in the Chapter's service area and attending a trade school, college or university program that is directly related to a construction career.  This includes skilled trades, engineering, architecture, and construction management.  Applications are due by March 6, 2026.

Morgainz Fitness Scholarship: Applicants must be a high school senior, attending a college, technical program, or a trade school and demonstrates a passion for wellness, personal development, leadership, or helping others. Students can apply at https://forms.gle/P1AP7LjuPUa4pTTg6.  The scholarship will award $250 each to one male and one female student. Application Deadline is March 31, 2026.
