Community Foundation for the Alleghenies Visit cfalleghenies.org/scholarships. All easy-apply scholarships are available from November 1st through March 8th.
Community Impact Scholarship - $2,500: Available to students who demonstrate active involvement in community service and exhibit strong leadership qualities. FIRST COMMONWEALTH BANK SCHOLARSHIP FUND: Eligible for graduating seniors and must have a 3.0 GPA. Must complete an application an an essay. A gift of $1,000 scholarships will be made available to high school seniors attending a college or university. Entries must be submitted online at http://www.fcbanking.com/scholarship. Entries are due on February 28th.
Horatio Alger Scholarship: To be eligible , you must be a junior with plans to enter a college in the fall following graduation, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution, demonstrate financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community service, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, maintain a minimum grade point average of a 2..0. Students may apply online at horatioalger.org/scholarships. Deadline is March 1st.
Susan M. Hunter Scholarship 2025: Students must be the child of a corrections employee (current, full-time, retired, or deceased) within any CLA member Department of Corrections or jail/prison system. Must be enrolled full time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3. The scholarship amounts awarded will be $1,500. Technician Training Scholarship for Thomas Automotive - Applicant must have an interest and passion for automotive technology and the desire to learn and master the craft of technician in a dealership environment. One Senior student will be awarded in each of our markets located in Johnstown, Bedford, and Cumberland. Successful applicants will receive a total of $3,500 ($1,000 and $2,500 to spend on tools paid out over their first year at the company). Completed scholarship application packages must be received by April 1st.
