PFEW - Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week - open to any sophomore or junior.  This is a week-long educational program that teaches students to understand the operations of a business including marketing, accounting, supply and demand and more.  PFEW also helps students develop critical skills in communication, leadership, time management, problem solving and team building all while improving their self-esteem and confidence.  Because of a rolling acceptance, interested students should submit applications right away.  Spaces fill fast!  More information is available in the guidance office and online at www.pfew.org/student-application.

December 4 - PA American Legion Oratorical Scholarship for students in grades 9-12.  Applications must be submitted by December 4.  The contest will consist of two separate speeches.  More information is available in the guidance office.

January 5 - GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program - This $10,000 renewable scholarship opportunity-- up to $40,000 per recipient-- is open to high school seniors nationwide who showcase leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship. Recipients also join the Reagan Academy network of exceptional students and young professionals who desire to lead, serve, and have a positive impact on their communities.  Stop by the guidance office for more information.

Before January 9 - PA American Legion Essay Contest for students in grades 9-12.  Students must prepare 500-1000 word essay without assistance.   Essays must be submitted to a local American Legion Post before January 9.  More information is available in the guidance office.

January 23 - Calling all Juniors...The Somerset Rural Electric Cooperative Youth Tour is an all expense paid educational trip to Washington DC.  If interested, applications are available in the guidance office.

March 1 - Lions Young Ambassador of the 21st Century Award is open to students in grades 8-12.  Applicants must have community service, leadership and submit an essay.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

March 1 - Ross F. DiMarco Scholarship applications are available in the guidance office for any interested senior who plans on pursuing their education.
