Scholarships For High School Seniors | TUN

 

Community Foundation for the Alleghenies   Visit cfalleghenies.org/scholarships.  All easy-apply scholarships are available from November 1st through March 8th.  

Community Impact Scholarship - $2,500: Available to students who demonstrate active involvement in community service and exhibit strong leadership qualities. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Applications can be found by going to https://studentscholarships.org/scholarship/20474/community-impact-scholarship 
Deadline: February 12, 2025

FIRST COMMONWEALTH BANK SCHOLARSHIP FUND:   Eligible for graduating seniors and must have a 3.0 GPA.  Must complete an application an an essay. A gift of $1,000 scholarships will be made available to high school seniors attending a college or university.  Entries must be submitted online at http://www.fcbanking.com/scholarship.  Entries are due on February 28th.  

Horatio Alger Scholarship:    To be eligible , you must be a junior with plans to enter a college in the fall following graduation, exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor's degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution, demonstrate financial need, be involved in co-curricular and community service, display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, maintain a minimum grade point average of a 2..0.  Students may apply online at horatioalger.org/scholarships.  Deadline is March 1st.  

Susan M. Hunter Scholarship 2025:  Students must be the child of a corrections employee (current, full-time, retired, or deceased) within any CLA member Department of Corrections or jail/prison system. Must be enrolled full time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3.  The scholarship amounts awarded will be $1,500.  To apply, please visit the website at https://www.correctionalleaders.com/smh-scholarship.  Deadline is March 31st.

Technician Training Scholarship for Thomas AutomotiveApplicant must have an interest  and passion for automotive technology and the desire to learn and master the craft of technician in a dealership environment. One Senior student will be awarded in each of our markets located in Johnstown, Bedford, and Cumberland.  Successful applicants will receive a total of $3,500 ($1,000 and $2,500 to spend on tools paid out over their first year at the company). Completed scholarship application packages must be received by April 1st.
