- 6th Grade Introduction to Agriculture Course Description/Class Summary:
The sixth grade, 18 week course, “Introduction to Agriculture” allows students to become familiar with the agricultural practices that occur in the community. Students will be introduced to careers in agriculture as well as participate hands-on with some of the agriculture practices that are important to perform in daily life. This class incorporates the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology (Agriculture), the National Agriculture Standards, and the National CTE Standards.
- 7th Grade Builds on Agriculture Course Description/Class Summary:
The seventh grade “Builds on Agriculture course” is designed to assist students in exploring science as it relates to agriculture. Through well-planned instructional activities, students have the opportunity to develop an understanding of human relations, communication, the importance of agriculture to the economy, and key scientific terms related to the field of agriculture concepts. The duration of the course the standards that are taught belong to the National AFNR, Common Core Reading & Writing for Other Subjects, and the STEELS. The course is offered quarterly, allowing students to partake in this course for a period of 9 weeks.

- Elementary Art Course Description/Class Summary:
Elementary Art is a class designed to teach young artists techniques and fine motor skills associated with art. This class will help develop creativity and design through a variety of art mediums. Students will also learn art techniques and technologies from different time periods and cultures.

A nine week course, is designed to encourage creativity while learning new techniques. This year you will learn to intelligently think and speak about art. You will also learn how to create art from concept to finished project with various art mediums.

- PK-2nd Grade Physical Education Course Description
This course provides students with the opportunity to be active and learn through play. The students focus is on safety, gross motor, locomotor skills and mechanics or skills used during a variety of activities to enhance and promote a healthy lifestyle. Emphasis is placed on active participation and positive social interaction during physical activity and play. This class meets once each week for the entire school year.
- 3rd-5th Grade Physical Education Course Description
This course provides students the opportunity to be active and learn through movement. The students focus is on safety, gross motor skills and mechanics or skills used during a variety of activities to enhance and promote a healthy lifestyle. Fitness testing and game strategies are introduced during this course as well. The emphasis is still placed on active participation and positive social interaction during physical activity and play. This class meets once each week for the entire school year.
- 6th Grade Health Course Description
The purpose of health education is to build comprehensive health knowledge and skills in developmentally appropriate ways in an effort to prepare and empower students to value and engage in life-long healthy lifestyles which will allow them to reach their fullest potential and assure that they become productive, responsible citizens. Our goal is to reduce risk behaviors and increase healthy habits which will promote strong bonds between students and their families, schools, and community. This class meets twice each week for the entire school year.
- 6th-8th Grade Physical Education Course Description:
This course provides students with the opportunity to learn a variety of sports and sport related movements as well as health and fitness concepts. Emphasis is placed on active participation and positive social interaction during fitness and sport activities. This class meets three times each week for the entire school year.
Library
- Kindergarten Library Class Summary:
Students will be introduced to the concepts of the library. Students will learn and practice library citizenship by means of proper book handling skills. Through modeling, students will gain a familiarity with the library facility. Students are introduced to the genres of fiction and nonfiction, concepts of print, literature appreciation via storytelling, informational problem solving, and assistance with selecting books appropriate for their grade level leading to independent book selection.
- 3rd grade Library Class Summary:
The 3rd grade Library course supports the development of reading for personal and academic competency and integrating information technologies appropriately and equitably. Within the course, students are developing the ability to inquire, include, collaborate, curate, explore and engage with information. Students are provided with learning experiences which allow them to explore resources for pleasure and academic purposes, use both digital and print resources, practice responsible digital citizenship, and develop research skills.

It is designed to develop many musical skills including singing and performing, music reading skills and an understanding of interpretation and expression of music. Other skills such as leadership, organization and responsibility will also be utilized as a part of rehearsal. A variety of musical styles will be explored throughout the course using the performance music and pertinent performances online. The course includes two graded public performances – one in semester I and one in semester II.
